On June 28, 2024, their company suddenly announced that the group’s private messaging subscription service would be closing down. In other circumstances, this could simply mean that the group’s service may be moved to a different platform. But there was one telling sign that led fans to speculate that MIRAE could be disbanding. Although the group’s service would be halted, the company would be reopening the service for Dongpyo only.

Announcement that the group’s Dear U. Bubble would be halted, and Dongpyo’s solo Bubble to be reopened.

Fans began to speculate about the matter.

Crazy, I guess MIRAE’s going to disband. Their group’s Bubble will end, but they will reopen only Son Dongpyo’s.

Others wondered if it means the end for MIRAE. The other members of MIRAE have been involved in various controversies over the years. Fans re-spotlighted these controversies, while praising Dongpyo for his hard work.

Clubs and dating are a given, then there’s also the kid who mocked Tsuki’s expressions, the kid who sold fans’ gifts online, the kid who laughed while using a filter of himself drowning during the Sewol Ferry’s 9th memorial anniversary. I think we should be pretty proud of [Dongpyo] who hung in there while being the breadwinner.

MIRAE’s last comeback was in July 2023. The group has been inactive for close to a year, with only Dongpyo continuing to promote through variety shows. No official news has been released by the company yet.
