Safety shorts are used to protect female idols when they are wearing short pieces, and NewJeans‘ stylists have been praised for utilizing the shorts well to look stylish and protect the members.

Recently fromis_9 did a fansign event with fans, and the members were wearing uniforms. Netizens quickly noticed how short Jiheon’s skirt was, and while she had a blanket covering her at some times, it wasn’t as she was dancing.

While fans have chosen not to spread the video actually showing Jiheon’s outfit as she stood up (aside from quoting to spread the issue), it hasn’t stopped them from sharing their anger toward the stylist.

In particular, with everything going on in Korea with women and the spread of deep fakes of female idols, they thought it was disgusting that Jiheon was made to wear such an outfit. Some also pointed out that Jiheon could have been wearing safety shorts, but it went against the purpose as they were much shorter than her actually skirt.

I apologize for referencing the video, but… The skirt is already very short, and the inner lining and separate inner shorts are barely visible. What kind of coordination led to the decision to add a slit, making it even more revealing? Shouldn’t the length at least be enough so that when the person wearing it tries to pull it down, it offers some coverage?
