Hyung then talked about why Song was her pick for the role, explaining that the character needed to have an “unreadable” face, and she cast the actor for that particular reason. But Song also turned out to be extremely knowledgeable about cryptocurrency, making him tailor-made for the role. “The moment I saw him, I thought, ‘He’s Yang Do Hyun,’” Hyung emphasized.

Recalling their time working together, Hyung Hae Ri shared they used to have many in-depth conversations during the filming and he chipped in with ideas often. She added that he was not the greatest at first impressions, but deep down he was a “warm-hearted and funny person.”

I miss him so much. It’s such a shame. It would’ve been great if he could be here with us today.

— Hyung Hae Ri

Crypto Man, slated to be released on January 15, was the last project actor Song Jae Rim worked on before he suddenly passed away last November at just 39 years of age.
