On September 27, former Jewelry member Cho Min Ah shared several photos on her Instagram and a caption that read, “Hospitalized for surgery the day before Chuseok holiday.” The images included Cho Min Ah’s medical appointment receipts, indicating that she received medical care from the Neurology and Neurosurgery departments.

Although she did not specify the exact nature of the surgery she underwent, she added a brief message wishing for support as she went through surgery.

The post left netizens curious, and they left comments worrying about Cho Min Ah and asking, “What surgery are you getting?” and “Oh no, what happened?” They wished her a successful surgery and a speedy recovery.

Four days ago, she posted a picture of her jogging, stating, “My self-esteem that respects and loves myself comes from a healthy body, a clear mind, and a strong heart.” This picture and message made netizens believe the surgery may have been sudden and unexpected.

Earlier this year, Cho Min Ah disclosed she had a severe anxiety disorder, peripheral neuropathy, and systemic circulation disorder. She also revealed that after taking medication for mental health daily for a while, she moved and started doing home training, which improved her physical and mental health to the point where she could stop taking medication.

Cho Min Ah, who started her career as a member of the girl group Jewelry in 2002 but left the group in 2006, has pursued various professions, including musical theater actress and pastry chef. She recently began working as a tarot master.
