2PM Taecyeon’s Upcoming 18+ BL Drama Shares Intense First Look And Release Information

In June 2024, Sports Chosun reported that 2PM‘s Taecyeon was filming a Netflix J-Drama titled Soul Mate. It tells the story of a Japanese man, Ryu, and a Korean boxer, Jo Han (also romanized as Yo Han). Over a decade, the two meet in Seoul, Berlin, and Tokyo and become closer as they heal one another’s wounds.

Though initially labeled a “bromance,” Netflix later clarified that it was a “love story between two young men.

Many have expressed excitement over the upcoming series, including Taecyeon’s thoughts on the role.

Recently, the first teaser for the series was shared online!

On February 12, the official first look at the series was posted online’s, showing Taecyeon and co-star Hayato Isomura in different settings.

Though it does not include a “kiss scene” that would obviously signal romance, the pair show off an obvious chemistry between themselves. A closer look by netizens revealed that the series would also be rated 18+, though that does not imply sexual content.

The update also revealed that the series will be released in August 2025, around six months from now. Many were excited. By the short clip, anticipating more teasers in the coming future!
