FNC Entertainment Announces SF9 Will Continue As 8 Members Without Rowoon

He will no longer promote with SF9.

Clarification: All members of SF9, including the now-former member Rowoon, renewed their contracts back in March 2021, ahead of the expiration. According to FNC Entertainment’s statement, Rowoon, too, renewed his contract with FNC Entertainment back then—but has decided as of September 18, 2023 that he would not be continuing an idol career as part of SF9.

FNC Entertainment has announced Rowoon will not continue to promote with SF9, instead focusing on acting and other solo activities.

In a statement made on SF9’s official fancafe, FNC Entertainment shared the news to FANTASYs around the world.

Hello, this is FNC Entertainment. This is an announcement regarding SF9’s activities.

SF9 debuted in 2016 and has been an artist for us for seven years. Their first contracts expired on September 18.

All members had already renewed their contracts with FNC Entertainment. Going forward, though, SF9 will continue as an eight-member group, excluding Rowoon.

Rowoon will focus on his acting and other personal activities.

Rowoon will always remain the ninth member of SF9, and the rest of the members will support each other and do their best in their own ways so that they can show a good performance to the fans.

Please give both SF9 and Rowoon lots of support and interest.

Thank you.
