Foreigner’s Critique Of Korean Men Compared To BTS’s Jimin Sparks Intense Debate
Online content creator IamfromKorea (@iam.from.korea on TikTok) is known for his street interviews, during which he often asks foreigners their opinions about South Korea.
In a recent video, he asked two women, “What is your biggest L that you had in Korea?” To his and the internet’s shock, one responded, “When I came to Korea, I thought that everybody will look like Jimin, but nobody look like Jimin.” It was even more shocking when IamfromKorea asked her what she meant by that and if she thought Korea would have “clones” of the idol, to which she replied, “Yes.”

The video went viral, with 212.8K views on TikTok at the time of this writing. Many ARMYs could relate to the woman and agreed that Jimin is the standard for men.
The video has even circulated on X (formerly Twitter), going viral with 327.2K views at the time of writing. X-users were also in agreement with the woman.

Many found the video relatable and humorous. Some believe the woman wasn’t serious and was just joking. Yet, many are concerned that she was sincere in her statements.
On TikTok, the video triggered more of a debate. Whether netizens agreed with the woman or not, many claimed they would never admit it out loud. They felt it was too embarrassing and childish.
Netizens also wondered if the woman sincerely believed all Korean men looked like Jimin and how she came to that conclusion, considering he and his fellow six BTS members all look nothing alike.
