Former 2NE1 Member Minzy Files Injunction Against Current Agency Music Works For Contract Termination
It has been belatedly revealed that former 2NE1 member Minzy has filed an injunction against her current agency, Music Works, for termination of her current contract.
According to sources from the court via Kookmin Ilbo, Minzy recently filed a lawsuit with the Seoul Central District Court against Music Works to suspend the validity of her contract with them. She is also seeking ₩50 million KRW ($42,740 USD) in damages from the company.
The court held an interrogation on October 18 and called in both Music Works and Minzy to hear their respective positions on the dispute. The results of the injunction have yet to be released.
Minzy left 2NE1 and YG Entertainment in April 2016. Just one month later, she signed with her new agency, Music Works, and has released her first solo mini album under the agency.
There has been speculation that Minzy did infact leave Music Works prior to the reveal of these news, as a fan had asked her manager why he deleted photos of Minzy, and he confirmed he was not Minzy’s manager anymore.
Taesoo finally confirmed that he is no longer Minzy's manager. She might be leaving music works soon 👀 pic.twitter.com/KcCUjMTGsi
