Former B.A.P’s Himchan Under Investigation For Third Sexual Assault Case
Former B.A.P member Himchan, who was handed over to trial for sexual harassment, has admitted to all charges. However, it was also revealed that he was investigated by the police for another sexual crime. On April 3, judge Kim Yumi from the Seoul Western District Court, held a trial date for Himchan, who was charged with indecent assault.
Before the trial, Himchan’s side submitted a written opinion requesting a merger review of the case, which will be sent to the prosecution this week. Himchan’s lawyer submitted a written opinion to the court stating, “Please proceed with the trial privately,” but the court did not accept it.
Judge Kim drew the line, stating, “In cases of sexual assault, there are cases where they are conducted privately if the victim wishes, but today’s trial is not in the position to do that.” Most of all, HImchan is facing public wrath as he has already been tried for the third time for forced indecent assault.
Previously on July 24, 2018, Himchan was sentenced to ten months in prison for sexually harassing a woman at a resort in Namyangju, Gyeonggi-do. In 2020, he was also caught drunk driving.
Last April, he assaulted two women in the outside staircase of a bar in Hannam-Dong, Seoul. At the trial that day, Himchan’s lawyer acknowledged the charges and stated, “We are trying to come to an agreement with the victim and urge the trial to proceed.” It was also revealed that day that an investigation into another sex-related crime involving HImchan was underway.
