Former BTOB’s Jung Ilhoon Sentenced To Probation During Second Trial
Former BTOB member Jung Ilhoon, who was previously sentenced to two years in prison and fined 133 million KRW ($~119,000 USD) during his first trial, was released after his second trial.
On December 16 KST, the 13th Criminal Division of the Seoul High Court sentenced him to two years in prison and three years of probation along with 40 hours of drug treatment classes.
The court stated, “Jung and the other defendants have a relatively long period of crime and have smoked frequently. However, he did not engage in commercial activities such as sales and distribution other than purchasing and using it himself.” The remaining defendants were all charged with the same sentence of imprisonment and fines.
Previously, he was brought to trial for suspicions of purchasing and smoking 826 grams (about 1.8 pounds) of marijuana using approximately 130 million won ($~116,500 USD) across 161 instances between July 5, 2016 and January 9, 2019.
