Back in August 2021, K-Pop idol Soojin withdrew from her former girl group (G)I-DLE after over six months of confronting online allegations of bullying in middle school.

The last official update came in September 2022, with an update from Soojin’s legal team. They cleared her name with an official statement that marked the end of her long battle against the original accuser.

It meant that netizens couldn’t hide their excitement when social media was updated with her whereabouts. On April 1, 2023, Twitter went mad after a short clip, and some pictures of the former member out and about with friends at a mall in Korea were posted. While none capture Soojin’s face in full…

After that, more stories from those who witnessed a piece of Soojin’s non-celeb life began circulating. In particular, they believed it was her because of her unique tattoos.

While fans released videos and pictures of Soojin in April, there had been no official updates from the idol… until now.

On June 30, social media sites worldwide and Korean news outlets went crazy after netizens believed Soojin had finally created and updated a new Instagram account. According to fans, the account had the nickname @_seosootang with the description just saying “soojin.” After two hours, it had passed 240,000 followers.

That just continued to grow as time passed and more netizens became aware of the account.

Of course, while it could be anyone with those details, the photos made it even more likely. The first photo showed Soojin, and it made people think it was her even more, from the facial features, small spots and birthmarks, and her style.

The second photo was simply some flowers, and they truly matched the aesthetic of the first photo.

Of course, there was no confirmation that it is Soojin, but considering how much it looks like the idol and hasn’t been seen before, it’s not surprising that netizens couldn’t doubt its authenticity.

It’s been nearly two years since the former member shared a personal update, and it’s unsurprising that many fans are speculating if she could return and sharing their excitement.

While it still isn’t confirmed to officially be Soojin’s account, the evidence seems undeniable, and it’s unsurprisingly got fans excited for her future.
