Former Trainee Exposes The Extreme Methods A Big K-Pop Company Used To Make Her Lose Weight
The life of a K-Pop idol is full of intense schedules and being subjected to criticism about the way you look, particularly when it comes to weight. Many Korean companies are particularly strict on female idols and trainees, and those who have experienced the lifestyle are sharing the extreme methods companies go to when ensuring their artists are the “ideal” weight.
A former K-Pop trainee under the TikTok username @sprychn shared the unbelievable methods her company, which she revealed was one of the well-known agencies, tried to get her to lose weight.
In the video, she explained that the company was strict on weight, and as she was someone who saw her weight as “yo-yo,” they injected her with an HCG hormone and a strict diet to lose weight.
Despite all this, the company asked for a meeting. At first, she thought it was a way of saying she was cut and being sent home.
Shockingly, the place she was taken was somewhere that did actual procedures to lose weight, and this time it was LAMS, which is a treatment method for liposuction removal. Unsurprisingly, despite being so young, the pressure of the company and wanting to succeed meant she agreed to the treatment.
The diet pills continued but it was scary after the doctor explained how bad the pills were, even adding that they wouldn’t prescribe them to anyone of that age.
Not everyone wants to take pills, and considering the health risks the doctor had warned of, the company wasn’t taking it lightly. When it was revealed that she wasn’t taking them or “slacking,” the company would video call to ensure the pills were taken.
Even after all this, alongside the long hours of practice, the company even sent her to a training camp.
