Former LOONA Member Chuu Wins Second Trial Against BlockBerry Creative
Former LOONA member Chuu has won her second trial against former agency BlockBerry Creative.
In 2022, BlockBerry Creative kicked Chuu out of LOONA, alleging poor behavior on her part. This allegedly included verbal abuse against staff. However, the public has been on her side since a detailed exposé from Dispatch was released.
Hello. This is BlockBerry Creative.
We are releasing this statement to tell the fans that we have decided that Chuu will be removed from LOONA on November 25, 2022.
There has been a lot of speculation surrounding Chuu this past year, but the LOONA members nor we released a statement not to cause trouble within the group’s growth or cause concern to the fans.
Based on the LOONA members’ love for the team and consideration for their fans, they tried to show their feelings by putting their best efforts into their performances and content, not talking about what is true or false.
However, recently we were told of Chuu’s verbal abuse and power-tripped tendencies toward our staff. After an investigation, we discovered the truth. Our agency staff is apologizing and comforting the affected staff members. We have decided to take responsibility for this and remove Chuu from LOONA.
We would like to officially apologize to the staff members who this has significantly hurt, and we will put in our best effort so they can heal and focus on treatment, then return to their regular lives.
We want to apologize to the fans who have loved and supported LOONA all this time, and we ask for your forgiveness for not being able to have all 12 members stay together until the end.
The agency and LOONA will go back to our roots and work as hard, so an incident like this never happens again, no matter what occurs in the future. The LOONA members worked for more than just their personal growth. They also know what the fans have given them that allowed them to reach where they are now, so they did nothing to cause trouble to LOONA. They will continue until the end and repay the fans for the love and support they have shown LOONA.
Also, the company and the LOONA members will act respectfully and with gratitude towards all of our staff. The agency will do everything we can to give back, taking into account our staff’s sacrifices and devotion. Once again, we apologize to the team involved and the fans for causing trouble with this incident.

Last year, the court unsuccessfully attempted to mediate between the two parties. Since then, the 12th Civil Division of the Seoul Northern District Court ruled against BlockBerry Creative, nullifying the exclusive contract with Chuu, which was signed in December 2017. The court also ordered the entertainment agency to bear the litigation costs for both sides.
Now, Chuu has won her second trial against BlockBerry Creative as of March 8 of this year, as the 7th Civil Division of the Seoul High Court ruled in favor of the plaintiff, Chuu. The court commented, “We judged that the conclusion of the first trial was valid.” Previously, BlockBerry Creative appealed against the first trial ruling.Meanwhile, Chuu actively promotes as a solo artist under her new agency ATRP.
