The controversy started when Daisy responded to a comment on her school vlog about Yooyeon.

Fan: “So do you casually bump [into] Yooyeon at your uni?”

Daisy: “I’m pretty sure she dropped out 😭”

Daisy’s answer led to a flood of reactions from fans who accused her of spreading false information.

In the apology video, Daisy explained that she had misunderstood a public post made on her university’s page that included a screenshot of Yooyeon talking to fans about it.

I have absolutely zero reason to be shady or hateful towards this girl. Why the f*ck, why, why would I ever need to be shady towards her? We don’t even know each other. In fact, if anything, I like her. Okay. Like I think she’s funny and she’s gorgeous.

So the reason I responded to that comment like that is because on March 30th, I had to go check again March 30th, there was a post on my school’s page, a screenshot of what Yooyeon was saying to her fans in those idol chat platforms. I’m so sorry for mentioning your name again, girl, I’m so sorry.

And in that chat screenshot, she said verbatim in Korean, but verbatim, she said, I’m no longer the Ewha-godess You guys can call me the Ewha-dropout-godess instead. So the comments on that post were like, oh my God, we’re so sad to see her go, but like, good luck on your endeavors, blah, blah, blah.

Daisy took full responsibility for the situation, acknowledging that her comment was careless and that she shouldn’t have assumed things without knowing the full story. She also apologized to Yooyeon directly in the video.

When I saw this post too, I was like, oh my God, she made such a big decision for herself, but I’m so glad that she can laugh about it and make jokes. So that is why I thought she dropped out. Okay. I am so sorry. I thought this was like public information already. That is 100% my bad. Like I shouldn’t, you even have assumed in the first place, but like that’s why I thought she dropped out.

Okay. There is no other reason. If anything, I was misinformed too, and maybe past March 30th she decided not to drop out. You know what, girl you can change your mind. That does not matter. And I understand when people are like, even if you weren’t sure, you shouldn’t have like run your mouth like that and you shouldn’t be like, airing out someone’s business. And that was like, that’s very rude. I completely understand. Again, I thought this was public information. Like I’m, I’m actually so sorry about that.

In conclusion, Daisy clarified that the whole incident was a misunderstanding and that she was not trying to hurt Yooyeon or spread hate. Meanwhile, Yooyeon clarified to fans that she has not, in fact, dropped out two days after her original Fromm messages gained attention and made their way onto the university page.
