Talks of former NCT member Lucas‘ solo debut being cancelled spread like wildfire.
Back in 2021, Lucas went on a hiatus after getting caught up in a gaslighting scandal. He eventually withdrew from NCT and WayV in 2023.
Earlier this month, SM Entertainment officially announced that Lucas will be making his solo debut in April. He became active again on various social media and communication platforms, such as Instagram and Weverse.
However, this development came with significant backlash. Many netizens did not understand why he’s able to return to the entertainment industry after what happened, and some even went as far as joking about his “death.”

On March 18, the topic “Lucas’ solo debut failed” trended on Weibo.
The discussions seemingly started with a post that was originally on Twitter but made its way to Weibo shortly after.

SM seemingly officially announced the cancellation of Lucas’ solo debut. Later on, the news was confirmed to be a prank by a Twitter user, not official information.
