Former President Moon Jae In’s Daughter Booked For Drunk Driving
Former South Korean President Moon Jae In‘s daughter, Moon Da Hye, was booked for DUI (driving under the influence) in Seoul on Saturday, October 5.
Moon Da Hye was reportedly driving a Casper vehicle in a drunken state near the Hamilton Hotel in Itaewon. While changing lanes, she crashed into a taxi that was following her. According to police officials, the accident caused the taxi driver to sustain minor injuries.
At the time of the crash, Moon’s blood alcohol content was measured at 0.14 percent, much higher than the 0.8 percent threshold for license revocation. According to reports, Yongsan police station booked her for violating the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving). Moon is expected to appear at the police station for questioning on October 7.
The incident has delivered a major blow to former President Moon Jae In’s public image, given that he was already under investigation by prosecutors for potential involvement in a bribery case. He is accused of being involved in his former son-in-law’s alleged preferential hiring at T’way Air. On August 30, Moon Da Hye’s house was searched by the authorities regarding complaints filed four years ago. However, Moon and her husband have since been divorced.
