In a follow-up tweet, she then revealed that while it was indeed a difficult time for her, in retrospect, she believes it was a good decision to take for herself, and that she’s “now in a better place”.
Can’t say it didn’t hurt in the beginning… 9 years down the drain… I def cried a lot but I’m in a better place now. I think I’ve discovered a lot about myself and my mental health has improved so much that I can’t really complain

Kyla became a trainee under Pledis Entertainment in 2010, and after 7 years of training, officially made her debut as the maknae of PRISTIN. In 2017, during the promotions of the group’s first comeback track “We Like”, Pledis Entertainment announced that Kyla will be taking a temporary hiatus due to health issues, and announced that while she recovers, 5 members from the group would be promoting as a subunit called PRISTIN-V.
After PRISTIN-V promotions, and no further activities, Pledis Entertainment ultimately announced the unfortunate disbandment of the group in May 2019. Since then Kyla has been attending high school in the U.S., and is living her best life!
We wish you all the best in your future endeavors, Kyla!
