Former SM Entertainment Producer MZMC Teases His New Girl Group Will Debut Soon
Former SM Entertainment producer MZMC (also known as Paul Thompson and Marz) just teased that his new girl group will make their debut soon!
MZMC worked with JYP Entertainment artists for a while at the start of his career. Then, he began working with SM Entertainment. For years, MZMC created hit songs for SM Entertainment artists. He produced over 50 songs for SM Entertainment. He worked on several songs for SHINee, like “1 of 1,” “Prism,” and “Our Page.” He also worked on the group’s solo tracks, like Taemin‘s “Drip Drop” and Jonghyun‘s “Only One You Need.”
He’s produced many songs for EXO, like “They Never Know,” “Ooh La La La,” “Ko Ko Bop,” and “Tempo.” He’s also worked on solo songs for the members, like Lay‘s “Don’t Let Me Go.”
He’s also worked on songs for NCT, like NCT 127‘s “Cherry Bomb” and NCT DREAM‘s “We Go Up.” He’s also worked with Girls’ Generation on songs like “One Last Time” and with Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon on solo tracks like “Fine” and “One Day.” He worked with Girls’ Generation’s Tiffany on songs like “I Just Wanna Dance.”
MZMC worked on Red Velvet songs, like “Rookie” and “RBB (Really Bad Boy).” He also worked on BoA songs like “Encounter” and “Good Love.”
As you can see, he’s got a long track record of making hits!
In March 2020, MZMC was embroiled in a copyrights battle with SM Entertainment, and fans were worried they wouldn’t be able to hear their favorite songs in SM Entertainment artists’ online concerts, live DVDs, and other VOD merchandise. Since parting ways with SM Entertainment, MZMC has been working with K-Pop artists like Kang Daniel, CIX, and THE BOYZ. He is also reportedly working with GFRIEND‘s Yuju on her solo debut.
After working on hits for so many artists, MZMC is ready to debut his own girl group. Back in January, he announced on Instagram that he was holding auditions for members of the girl group.
Now, K-Pop fans believe MZMC will debut his girl group soon. MZMC recently posted a photo on the MZMC Casting Instagram page of 7 girls whose faces were covered by hearts. The post was cryptically captioned with a music notes emoji. The 7 girls are believed to be members of the upcoming girl group.
Based on MZMC’s history of making hits, K-Pop fans are excited to hear what his new girl group has to offer!
