Former Wanna One’s Lai Guanlin Shocks With Recent Whereabouts
Former Wanna One‘s Lai Guanlin moved back to China to pursue a career as an actor after Wanna One disbanded. He starred in many successful dramas such as A Little Thing Called First Love.
In June 2024, he uploaded a careful post to his Weibo, declaring that he had decided to retire from the entertainment industry. Many speculated that he would be taking a backseat from the limelight and that he would focus on being a director. Lai Guanlin did not mention specifics, but only claimed a “change in career direction.”
In November 2024, fans found him amongst photos of government officials.
A few sources including a Vietnamese news broadcast allegedly claimed that he was now working as a government official.
He updated his Weibo with a couple of photos taken in front of a government building.
Fans clarified that he was not working as a government official, but had simply been invited to the Cross-Strait Chinese Culture Summit as he was considered a person of Taiwan’s cultural circle.
