Fourth Gen Idol’s Father Unexpectedly Steals The Show At The Blue Dragon Series Awards
On July 19, KST, the 3rd Blue Dragon Series Awards took place, honoring the best of the best Korean content produced by streaming services. The star-studded ceremony had many eye-stealers, but none did it with so much pizzazz as Park Nam Jung, the father of STAYC’s Sieun.
On July 18, Park took the stage at the Blue Dragon Series Awards to perform his 1989 song “Missing You,” leaving the audience in complete awe. Even at 58 years of age, he managed to deliver a power-packed performance with stable live vocals and choreography. The icing on the cake, however, was his unbelievably smooth dance break!

While newer K-Pop fans might know Park as Sieun’s father, Park is a veteran singer who was a sensation in the 1980s and 1990s. Apart from his mesmerizing vocals, Park was also known for pioneering the “L Dance” craze.
Despite his stature, it seems as though nobody expected Park to retain all of his on-stage charisma to date, especially since he has been out of the limelight for a while. The clip of his performance went viral on Korean online communities almost immediately and like his live audience, netizens, too, were left in awe of Park Nam Jung’s undefeated charm.
