F.T. Island’s Hongki Faces Criticism Over Message About Minhwan’s Prostitution Scandal
F.T. Island‘s Hongki message about Minhwan‘s prostitution scandal has earned heavy criticism.
Former LABOUM‘s Yulhee released a bombshell video exposing her ex-husband, F.T. Island’s Minhwan, for allegedly going to adult entertainment establishments, including brothels and karaoke rooms with service girls.
The former idol shared recorded phone calls between Minhwan and his acquaintance, who seems to be his broker for such services.
Minhwan has already received enormous backlash from netizens. He announced he would halt all activities, including the program he appears on with his children. However, it was also announced that he would continue his music activities, which earned him criticism.
On October 25, Lee Hongki seemingly shared a message on Weverse referencing the ongoing scandal.
F.T. Island’s Lee Hongki Makes Ambiguous Post About Minhwan’s Prostitution Scandal
In his post, he says that what is wrong should be acknowledged, but also states that not everything that is seen should be believed.
On a now viral forum post, netizens discussed his message and were critical over the ambiguity of the message. Many criticized believing the message was defending Minhwan in a way, while others wished he would speak more directly.
- It wasn’t about both of them; the man solicited prostitution alone. Before telling us not to believe everything, listen to the recording first, Mr. Lee Hongki.
- Why do we need to leave room for interpretation? He literally said he’d take the stones. Hahaha. Of course, he’s getting hit since he’s embracing the room salon scene. Where does this victim act come from? Ridiculous.
- What exactly are we not supposed to believe? The call logs for booking the establishment??
- I think you need to be clearer, for your own sake. You can’t just talk ambiguously like that. If you were going to say something, then say it properly instead of leaving it halfway. Hahaha.
- Hahaha. So, “He made a mistake going to the establishment, but don’t believe everything the woman says”? That’s how it sounds to me. Seems like you just want to throw in a word because you’re feeling wrongly accused, right? Haha.
- Ugh… Honestly, I trusted Lee Hongki, but I’m really disappointed.
- So, we’re not supposed to trust Yulhee? The recording was released. Fans may be trying to convince themselves otherwise, but this just seems like defending a sexual offender.
