The track “WORK Pt.4 – ATEEZ X G-Eazy,” features American rapper Gerald Earl Gillum, known as G-Eazy. Many were initially excited about the collaboration, mentioning the exposure to new listeners the K-Pop group may receive.

Unlike some of the recent collaborations K-Pop artists have had with Western artists, there were no indications that this collaboration should be boycotted for most fans. However, many are less than pleased with the track for more than one reason.

Shortly after the announcement, a teaser for the track was released, showing new English lyrics for the track in addition to teasing G-Eazy’s part.

Many were less than pleased with G-Eazy’s part…

…many were surprised to see an alleged diss in G-Eazy’s lyrics. G-Eazy’s part includes the line “We’re far away, if Libra is her sign.”

Many believe this is a shot at Halsey, G-Eazy’s ex-girlfriend, who is a Libra.

Halsey and G-Eazy’s romance was first hinted at in August 2017 with the release of “Him & I.,” going official in September.  In July 2018, Halsey shared that the pair had split, later heavily implying it had been caused by the rapper cheating on her.

The singer also hinted that the relationship had been abusive in response to comments mocking her.

Many found G-Eazy’s alleged “callout” to be distasteful and were not fans of the fact ATEEZ was collaborating with him.
