Gary, Song Jihyo, and Kim Jong Kook update fans for the first time since Running Man scandal
After deleting all of his posts on Instagram following news of the controversy regarding his former variety show Running Man and members Song Ji Hyo and Kim Jong Kook, Gary has finally broken his silence on the issue.
Posting a simple black and white photo of him sitting together with the two former cast members, with the caption “Thank you for all your hard work.”
Gary left Running Man earlier this year to focus on his music. While Gary’s departure from the show was quite surprising for long-time viewers, news that Song Ji Hyo and Kim Jong Kook were removed from the show came as a big shock to the industry.
It was reported earlier that Song Ji Hyo herself did not find out about her removal from the show until media released the news. In fact, he producers of the show recently issued an official apology for the way they handled communications during the entire situation. Now with Gary, Song Ji Hyo, and Kim Jong Kook all gone from the show, and Kang Ho Dong having declined an offer to join the cast, there has been a lot of speculations regarding the future and direction of Running Man.
Since it began airing on SBS over seven years ago, Running Man has become one of the most popular Korean variety shows on television, attracting fans from all over the world. To date, four fixed cast cast members have left the show, with actor Song Joong Ki having been the first to do so.
