G-Dragon Acquires Trademark Rights To His Name From YG Entertainment

He now owns the rights to his stagename.

G-Dragon (real name Kwon Ji Yong) has acquired the trademark rights to his stagename from YG Entertainment.

According to an exclusive report from Tenasia, YG Entertainment recently transferred the trademark rights to the terms G-Dragon and GD (in both Korean ‘지디’ and English GD) to G-Dragon himself. The transfer was reportedly made without any exchange of compensation.

It is my understanding that the trademark has been handed over to him.

There should be no issues with him using the name G-Dragon.

G-Dragon ended his partnership with YG Entertainment in 2023 and moved to Galaxy Corporation. He is currently preparing for his comeback, which is expected to occur later this year.
