G-Dragon’s Concert Faces Shockingly Long Delay, Fans Left Waiting In Freezing Temperatures

G-Dragon’s highly anticipated solo concert in Seoul faced an unexpected and lengthy delay, leaving thousands of fans waiting in freezing temperatures.

The G-DRAGON 2025 WORLD TOUR [Ubermensch] in Korea kicked off on March 29 at the Goyang Sports Complex, marking his first solo concert in eight years. Ticket demand was immense, with both scheduled performances selling out instantly. However, the excitement turned into frustration as the show was delayed for an extended period beyond what was initially announced.

Earlier in the day, at around 1 PM, the event’s organizer, Coupang Play, notified fans via social media that the concert start time would be pushed back due to severe weather conditions. This last-minute announcement came just an hour before attendees were supposed to enter the venue. As a result, the VIP soundcheck event and general audience entry were rescheduled, with the concert’s start time moving from 6:30 PM to 7 PM.
Despite the adjusted schedule, the concert did not begin at 7 PM as expected. Fans, already seated, were left waiting without further explanation, with only a brief message on the venue’s screens mentioning weather-related issues.

It wasn’t until 7:28 PM that a music video played, sparking hope, but another video followed, prolonging the wait. The show finally started at 7:45 PM — a total delay of 75 minutes after the initial pushback.
After 8 PM, a statement was sent to reporters at the venue, explaining that strong winds had caused safety concerns, leading to the postponement. However, no additional details were provided regarding why the delay lasted longer than initially planned.

The unpleasant situation has become a hot topic on Korean forums where netizens have given their honest opinions in the comments.

- “Everyone must be struggling in this cold…”
- “Who could have expected the weather to turn like this? Even on TheQoo, I saw several posts today about sudden snowstorms. It’s better to be cautious than to push forward recklessly and risk someone getting hurt.”
- “If it’s a safety issue, there’s nothing they can do.”
- “It’s an outdoor concert, so this was bound to happen… They probably had to decide whether to give up on the special effects because of the weather.”
- “Just a few days ago, it was 20°C in the Seoul area, and I was walking around in short sleeves. But today, it’s freezing—I almost got blown away in the city.”
