G-Dragon Denies Running Popular Instagram Account Associated With Him
G-Dragon has clarified that the viral Instagram account “@8lo8lo8lowme,” which many believed to be his sub-account, isn’t actually run by him.
On November 18, KST, G-Dragon appeared on MBC FM4U’s Kim Eana’s Starry Night and had candid conversations over various topics with the host, Kim Eana. During the episode, when the Instagram account in question was mentioned, the singer revealed that it wasn’t operated by him.
The “@8lo8lo8lowme” account came into being in August 2024 and became a hot topic for posting unseen, candid pictures of G-Dragon. In addition to the content, the account username also led many to believe it was G-Dragon’s sub-account. In Korean, “@8lo8lo8lowme” reads as “follow-follow-me” (“팔로팔로미”), which was a catchphrase popularized by G-Dragon in his 2014 ad campaign for LG Uplus. The account also sprouted during G-Dragon’s first comeback in 88 months, another significant detail reflected in its user ID.
@8lo8lo8lowme currently boasts over 549,000 followers and only follows G-Dragon’s account. According to the idol, he himself is looking for the administrator of this account but hasn’t been able to trace them yet.
I’m also looking for this person. First of all, it’s not me. I don’t know who it is, but I’m communicating with them somewhere somehow.

When Kim Eana pointed out that the pictures posted on the account appear to be taken from really up close, G-Dragon responded, “But I can’t tell who it is. It feels like different people at different times. When they upload pictures, I check them as well.”
He also added that he communicates with the account’s owner through a communication channel, but he doesn’t know the administrator’s identity. So, he refers to them as “Lowme.” But Romy never bothers to respond to G-Dragon’s messages despite reading them every time.
I call (the account administrator) ‘Lowme.’ When I ask ‘who are you?’ they read the message but never respond. It’s a mystery.

After G-Dragon mentioned “Lowme” on the radio show, the Instagram account uploaded a bunch of new photos of the idol at the broadcasting studio, with a caption that said, “Lowme-nim, who are you?”
