G-Dragon’s Iconic Coat From MAMA Awards Sells For 167 Million KRW
Recently, G-Dragon teamed up with the digital auction platform JOOPITER, founded by Pharrell Williams, for an auction of personal items used or collected by him.
The auction, titled Nothing but A G Thang: The Art & Archive of G-Dragon, offered various fashion pieces, contemporary art, and memorabilia that G-Dragon had collected over the years. During its nine-day stint from September 2 to September 10, the auction recorded some very expensive bids.

The highest bid among all was for a multicolored fur jacket, all too familiar for older K-Pop fans. The coat, created by Saga Furs, was worn by the K-Pop idol during his solo performance at the 2014 MAMA Awards. He also sported it on stage during BIGBANG’s 2015 MADE tour.
On the penultimate day of the auction, the bid for the coat stood at $12,000 USD, But it rose up to $81,000 USD in the next ten minutes. On September 10, the coat finally sold for ₩167 million KRW (about $126,000 USD)!
The other items that recorded very high biddings included a director’s chair with G-Dragon’s real name, Kwon Ji Yong, engraved on it. It was used during his 2017 world tour and sold for $51,250 USD. A personalized Chanel belt from the 2010 spring/summer collection also sold for $31,250 USD!
Meanwhile, G-Dragon has slowly made his return to the public eye in the recent few months, as he is reportedly gearing up for a comeback.
