On December 25, the 2024 SBS Gayo Daejeon took place, boasting many popular idols in its line-up.

Among the last announced performers was G-Dragon, who has been topping the charts since his return with “Power.”

The idol, as expected, was the final performer of the night, and performed his latest hit. Many were surprised by the inclusion of “Crooked,” a track that is over a decade old also being performed. Some even connected its inclusion to the track being used in recent protests against President Yoon.

Many fans praised the idol for the performance, loving the unexpected song especially.

However, K-netizens expressed different opinions on the performance.

On a now viral forum post, the performances were shared and quickly racked up negative comments. One of the points mentioned multiple times was the idol’s vocals, as many felt his vocals were not up to par for the stage, also picking at how he performed as well.

  • Today’s performance was really bad. If it was another artist, he’d be roasted.
  • I guess his throat isn’t in good condition.
  • He’s just doing ad-libs and background vocals, not actually singing.
  • The lip-sync parts have completely different mouth movements, and the live parts are off-pitch… his skills have really declined.
