An online community board garnered over 20,000 views regarding (G)I-DLE Minnie’s story of how she almost debuted through SM Entertainment.
She revealed that it was her first time talking about this and that she auditioned for SM Entertainment even before auditioning for CUBE.
She emphasized that she just followed her friend, who wanted to audition.

She even filmed her profile at SM, which, according to Girls’ Generation‘s Hyoyeon, meant she had almost made it in.
She also auditioned for CUBE around the same time, but just one or two weeks later, they sent her a plane ticket to come to Korea.
So while SM was debating, CUBE just went straight for it and sent her a plane ticket!
Netizens agreed that Minnie would’ve suited SM if she had gone there instead.
