(G)I-DLE Fan Faces Backlash For Sharing Her Encounter With Shuhua
A (G)I-DLE fan recently received backlash from her fellow fans for sharing about her encounter with Shuhua.
The fan took to Threads to share their experience, mentioning that they ran into her at the airport. The OP (original poster) gave her a handwritten letter, which Shuhua started reading as she was walking.
My first Threads post is for our absolute beauty Yeh Shuhua.I ran into Shuhua at the airport just now. I gave her my handwritten letter and told her I’ve liked her for a long time. She said thank you. I even saw her reading my letter as she was walking.

Though Shuhua couldn’t take a picture with the OP due to her company’s restrictions, she signed an autograph. When the OP mentioned that they were going to perform a (G)I-DLE song, “???,” at a school event, the singer took her by surprise saying she already read about it in the letter.
As for taking a photo with her, she said her company doesn’t allow them to take photos on the streets, so I asked for an autograph.I told her we’re going to dance to (G)I-DLE’s song at our school’s dance party, and she said, “Oh~ I read that. ???” (??? is the song title) She really read my letter earnestly, I was going to cry.

The OP went on to praise Shuhua, highlighting her real-life beauty. The post ended with their declaration to be a loyal fan of the singer for the rest of their life.
She’s so, so, so pretty in real life. I saw her face without her mask for a short moment. Her skin is so white, and her makeup was so elegant. Her voice sounds so good. I don’t know what to say, I’m planning to love Yeh Shuhua for the rest of my life…..I love you, Yeh Shuhua. I love you, Yeh Shuhua. I love you, Yeh Shuhua.

Despite writing a post about the (G)I-DLE member’s kindness and beauty, the OP unexpectedly received harsh backlash from many fellow fans, who took an issue with them revealing Shuhua’s whereabouts to the public when she is not on an official schedule.
- “Can you not post this? If you love her, don’t hurt her. Is that too difficult?”
— “Agreed. Otherwise a bunch of people are going to say why she came to Taiwan and didn’t stay in Korea…”
- “Uh, everyone’s been saying not to bother her and reveal her whereabouts. I don’t believe you haven’t seen these posts.”
- “Please delete.”
However, many also came in the OP’s defence, pointing out that if Shuhua was comfortable enough to interact with a fan, others didn’t have a right to criticize the incident.
- “What are the comments going on about?
What’s going on? You can’t even post about an encounter with a celebrity?
You are all crazy. She’s a public figure.
I really don’t understand what’s going on these days. So dumb.”
- “You didn’t do anything wrong!
If Shuhua accepted the letter, then that means she doesn’t think it’s a big deal to accept it. If she thinks it’s an issue, she would reject it, just like taking a photo. Who are you guys to say things on her behalf? So annoying.”
