The two artists spent some quality time chatting over soju and some delicious food. During their conversation, Hyeri and Miyeon opened up about their close friendship and showcased the similarity of their temperaments.

Talking about the various aspects of their idol life, Hyeri asked Miyeon how she felt about hate comments. The (G)I-DLE member showed unbelievable maturity, saying that sometimes, when people point out her flaws as a performer, she tends to agree with that constructive criticism. Miyeon said, “I think people these days have very keen eyes. I relate to them.”

The singer also said that when she comes across such comments, she gets fired up to practice more and deliver even better as an artist.

As the gracefully kind person she is, Miyeon felt that people don’t criticize her without any reason. But Hyeri, the more experienced and outspoken senior, reminded her that many people would hate an idol just for the sake of it.

Hyeri then offered her perspective on dealing with such mindless hate, saying it doesn’t bother her at all. While she does take constructive criticism into account, if someone comments on shallow things like her appearance, she doesn’t let it faze her.

Miyeon agreed, saying that just as someone can be liked without any reason, they can be hated, too. She considered it as a part of being a celebrity.

The (G)I-DLE singer’s strong mindset left even a seasoned idol like Hyeri impressed!

While Miyeon’s attitude toward handling her haters might sound too good to be true, the idol, in fact, embodies her values in real life. When one of her recent live performances was criticized by netizens, she responded in an almost unprecedented manner and acknowledged her shortcomings through social media. Her sincerity won over even her harshest critics! You can read more about it here.
