Netizens Enraged At “Disgusting” Comments Sexualizing (G)I-DLE Soyeon’s Recent TikTok For The “Queencard” Challenge
One of the major issues within K-Pop is the sexualization of idols, with many netizens finding ways to make something completely innocent into something vulgar or sexual.
Netizens have recently hit back at comments sexualizing a recent TikTok from (G)I-DLE‘s Soyeon.
(G)I-DLE recently released their new track “Queencard,” and it unsurprisingly was a hit worldwide with a catchy tune, addictive dance, and lyrics that truly empower those listening to it.
After the release of the song, (G)I-DLE fans couldn’t contain their excitement when the members created a TikTok challenge that they did with other huge idols, including LE SSERAFIM, NMIXX‘s Sullyoon, MONSTA X‘s Hyungwon, and many more.

While most of the challenges were collaborations with other idols, Soyeon did one with the male actors from the music video. Like all the other challenges, it was a lot of fun and showcased them all having a good time dancing to the song.
Yet, while many fans loved the video, others were angry that the comments were full of sexualized comments.
Although some of the rude comments had been deleted from all the videos on the different platforms, many of them remained and were all centered around the video resembling a well-known p*rn video.
Netizens were angry after learning the reason why this particular TikTok, which had no other huge celebrities in it, was one of the most viewed. In the comments of the TikTok video, netizens hit back at the disgusting comments and pointed out that many of them clearly hadn’t read the lyrics to the group’s song “Nxde.”
When the song was released, it was praised for its bold lyrics and was even used as a TikTok trend that aimed to combat the sexualization of idols.
Considering the group’s desire to be strong and empowered women but also create a message with all their songs, netizens couldn’t hide their anger that, once again, some people seemingly made a light-hearted video into something sexualized.
Even on social media, while many hit back at the comparisons between the video and the particular scene, others explained how the quotes were also blatantly sexualizing the men in the video.

i saw the comments of this tik tok before they deleted them and i just want to say that apart from being very weird and gross towards the artist it also shows how fucking insane is the hyper sexualization of black men https://t.co/NRoA8k4VAf

The TikTok post would’ve been done to continue the trend for (G)I-DLE’s new song and would have had no expectations of such a sexualized response from some netizens. Considering the group’s past releases and their desire to battle child pornography, netizens are angry that their videos are being used to “promote” the very thing the group wants to combat.
