(G)I-DLE’s Yuqi Reveals Reason Why She Renewed Her Cube Entertainment Contract Rather Than Sign With A Chinese Company
Many Chinese idols who debut as K-Pop artists eventually move back to their own country, opening their own studios in China. While many such as WJSN‘s Xuanyi and Meiqi, EXO‘s Lay, and more have chosen that path, (G)I-DLE‘s Yuqi chose to renew her contract with Cube Entertainment in South Korea, despite multiple offers.
Yuqi shared the reason why she chose to do so on a recent talk show.

왔을 것이고, 중국 시장은 규모가 크니까 옮길 수도

The host asked her why she was not tempted given how big the market in China is.
If I just wanted to earn money, I would’ve already gone over, truth be told. But I want to continue to do the things I like, and that’s one of the reasons I renewed.
