Netizens Are Comparing Girls’ Generation’s Yoona And 2PM’s Junho In “King The Land” With Two Other Iconic K-Drama Couples
Despite only being two episodes in, one of the hottest K-Dramas right now is King The Land, starring Girls’ Generation‘s Yoona and 2PM‘s Junho.
Although the show initially had mixed reactions because of the casting, the K-Drama has become an instant hit with fans for so many reasons. Before the show was even released, the two veteran idols had netizens hot under the collar with their chemistry in magazine editorials.
In the series, Junho plays the son of a business owner who is in an inheritance battle, and Yoona plays a hardworking employee who has always dreamed of working at a hotel.
Even only two episodes in, netizens can’t get enough of Yoona and Junho’s chemistry. While nothing romantic has happened yet, they’ve already got netizens hooked on the enemies-to-lovers trope between a boss and his employee. Although not many episodes have aired, everyone knows it will have a happy ending.
Of course, it’s not surprising that netizens are comparing one of the newest and hottest K-Dramas to some classics, and the similarities are undeniable. One of the first major comparisons was to the 2022 K-Drama Business Proposal, starring Ahn Hyo Seop and Kim Sejeong (also known as Kim Se Jeong)
In the show, Ahn Hyo Seop plays a big CEO and Kim Sejeong gets the shock of her life after pretending to be her best friend on a blind date. While she tries to hide from him at work, the secret eventually comes out, and they have their happy ending.
Yet, more recently, fans have also compared it to the 2018 hit K-Drama What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim, starring Park Seo Joon and Park Min Young.
Similarly to King The Land and Business Proposal, Park Seo Joon plays a narcissistic executive of a company while Park Min Young is his secretary. While their romance blossoms slowly and has links to the past, it still follows the same story and character tropes.
In all three shows, it boasts a classic love story with twists and turns. While all the stars are different and add something to their character, they have the same core characteristics. The boss is cool and charismatic, while the female lead is strong, smart, and stunning.

Netizens couldn’t get over the three K-Dramas, dubbing them the “Big Three” with a hot cast, storylines that both tug at the heartstrings and make fans smile, along with a leading couple with unreal chemistry.
