Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon Expresses Her Frustration Over Her “Misunderstood” Image
Girls’ Generation member and soloist Taeyeon recently appeared on comedian Park Na Rae’s YouTube channel and got candid about her real-life struggles.
Taeyeon, Park Na Rae, and SHINee’s Key, who was also a guest on the channel, talked at length about their personal lives, showcasing their close friendship. During the conversation, Taeyeon, the well-known “homebody,” complained that her life was “seriously so boring!” She added, “I wake up early in the morning, at 7 am! I feel like I’m going crazy,” expressing frustration at the slow pace of her life.
Taeyeon proceeded to give an elaborate account of a typical day off in her life. “I literally just rest, order delivery food, drink coffee, and just stare outside,” the idol explained, regretting that she spent her 20s hustling only for her life to be this predictable. Park Na Rae jokingly commented that Taeyeon lived like she was in a nursing home.
As Key mentioned that Taeyeon does hang out with him when he invites her over, she clarified that people have misunderstood her to be a homebody who doesn’t like to leave her house. “I really like people! I miss people!” she joked, trying to imply that she would love to be invited by others to hang out.
Taeyeon revealed that even while traveling overseas during her tours, she restricts herself to the hotel room because she is overtaken by a work mindset. She confessed that she doesn’t have anyone around her who can drag her out of her room, not even her close staff members. She complained, “People misunderstand me so much!”
And just like that, Taeyeon became the face of all introverted extroverts in the world.
