Actress Lim Ji Yeon’s Instagram Gets Flooded With Irate Comments Post-“Blue Dragon Film Awards”
What actor Jung Woo Sung did at the “45th Blue Dragon Film Awards” was unexpected. But what actress Lim Ji Yeon has since faced happening to her Instagram feed might be even more unexpected.
On November 29, 2024 (KST), Jung Woo Sung made his first public appearance at the award show since the news of his having a son with model Moon Gabi broke. There, as he accepted the award for his huge hit K-Movie, 12.12: The Day, he addressed the scandal surrounding his personal life. He apologized for “causing concern” and claimed to “take full responsibility” for his son.

And it was during the award show when actress Lim Ji Yeon was spotted applauding and cheering on the troubled actor. Her reaction, alongside similar ones from fellow celebrities sitting near her, then triggered online backlash…
…for being inappropriate, especially compared to the reaction of idol-turned-actress Hyeri of Girl’s Day.

And it seems the backlash has taken over Lim Ji Yeon’s social media platform, too. Under her most recent posts, the actress saw comments condemning her behavior.
- “I hope you take time to learn what it means to clap for someone. Going to unfollow.”
- “You’re the only actress I started following with interest… So seeing you cheer on Jung Woo Sung was incredibly disappointing. You didn’t think about your fans. I hope you can learn from this and reflect. Just remember that fans will only stick around stars who are genuine and righteous. The ones who have positive impact on the world, you know.”
- “I’m a fan of yours… but I don’t understand why you were so excited to see Jung Woo Sung take stage. What was that about? It was such a huge turn off, haha. I mean, don’t you feel bad for your fellow women? One was made into a single mother. Two others were cheated on.”
- “I love you.”
- “Moon Gabi used to be a fellow female celebrity in the entertainment business. Did you think about the past two years she spent in pain when you applauded for Jung Woo Sung? It was so disappointing to see you act like that. It made me re-evaluate what I thought about you. I was really into you and I wished you all the best, but I think this is goodbye.”

Some of Lim’s fans have since attempted to defend her, claiming the actress was in “business mode” for her “boss,” as Jung Woo Sung is (alongside Lee Jung Jae) the founder and director of her management label.
Lim Ji Yeon has not addressed the comments. Meanwhile, she remains unbothered as she posted another picture of herself as Gu Deok in JTBC‘s new K-Drama, The Tale of Lady Ok.
