Gong Hyo Jin and Kang Hye Jung to play the lead role in upcoming play, “Educating Rita”
It was confirmed earlier today that Korean actresses Gong Hyo Jin and Kang Hye Jung are confirmed to play the lead role in the double cast play, Educating Rita.
On October 22nd, it was announced the two actresses have been selected to play the role of Rita in an upcoming play Educating Rita which will run through production in Seoul, South Korea. The casting news was later on confirmed by their respective agencies and stated that the play will have a double cast, putting Gong Hyo Jin and Kang Hye Jung to play the same role.
Educating Rita is a comedic play by British playwright, Willy Russel and originally made its premiere run in London, United Kingdom back in 1980, which was later on adapted in South Korea in 1991. The play depicts the relationship with Rita, a young hairdresser to her University lecturer named Frank.
It will start production on December 3rd at the Daemyung Culture Factory in Jongno, Seoul.
