Elderly Civilian Asks Gong Hyo Jin If She Fixed Her Entire Face On “Harmless From Today”
Actress Gong Hyo Jin is known for When The Camellia Blooms, one of her most famous and popular roles to date. She looked gorgeous in the drama as the owner of a pub. In the drama, she often wore floral printed clothing and her hair was long and straight. Paired with pale skin and natural, coral lips, she embodied the camellia itself.
She’s been starring on variety show Harmless From Today recently. Gong Hyo Jin headed down to a farming village in casual clothing and little to no makeup. With her hair neatly tied back in a cap, it didn’t come as a surprise that she looked different from her K-Drama looks.
When an elderly chairwoman of the Womens’ Association in the village asked which drama Gong Hyo Jin had acted in, a member of the production team reminded her that she was an avid viewer of When The Camellia Blooms. However, the chairwoman could not recognize Gong Hyo Jin.
What sparked contention was when the elderly woman had made the comment, “Did you rip out your entire face and fix it up?” This is a common reference to infer that someone has done severe plastic surgery. The comment was criticized as rude.
Gong Hyo Jin kindly took it in stride and barely reacted, simply choosing to change the topic and asked the chairwoman if she needed help. However, she later on mused that she must have aged since the show. When The Camellia Blooms first aired in 2019, a whole two years ago.
While Gong Hyo Jin was praised for the way she handled situation, many are questioning the manners of the elderly woman. Check out the scene below.
