The funeral service for Gong Yoo’s father is scheduled for the morning of the 8th, and he will be laid to rest at Sian Family Memorial Park in Gwangju City, Gyeonggi Province. His father’s passing marks a moment of profound sadness for the actor, who has often shared his close bond with his family.
Born in 1979, Gong Yoo has been a prominent figure in the South Korean entertainment industry for over two decades. He began his career as a model before making his acting debut. He gained widespread fame with his role in the MBC drama Coffee Prince in 2007 and has since delivered remarkable performances in films such as Finding Mr. Destiny, The Crucible, and The Suspect. His career saw a resurgence with the hit tvN drama Goblin in 2016.
Though Gong Yoo is a private man and rarely mentions his family, he had previously mentioned his father during an interview with Sports Donga for the movie Kim Ji Young, Born 1982, when talking about his character.
