GOT7′s Jinyoung will be enlisting in the military on May 8.
According to an exclusive report from JTBC, Jinyoung will be enlisting in the military on May 8. JTBC has reported that Jinyoung recently received his military enlistment notice and will be serving his mandatory duty to Korea as an active duty soldier.
Jinyoung first mentioned his upcoming military enlistment in late 2022 and he talked about the topic during an interview for his movie Christmas Carol.
It feels disconcerting but I think it’s better that I go [to the military] in a comfortable situation because all men have to serve. Of course, I could cry at home when it is time to go, but it’s not that time yet. I’m putting things down and will humbly accept it.

Jinyoung has been meeting with his fans prior to his military enlistment through the release of his solo album Chapter 0: WITH as well as his fan concert 2023 PARK JINYOUNG FANCONCERT ‘RENDEZVOUS’ IN SEOUL: Secret meeting between you and me. He also recently completed the filming of his Disney+ K-Drama The Witch.

Park Jinyoung will perform his national defense duties as an active solder after receiving his basic military training beginning May 8.
