GOT7 Members Reunite For Jinyoung’s Military Send Off
In early April, it was announced that GOT7‘s Jinyoung be enlisting in the military on May 8.
The artist has remained busy since GOT7 departed from JYP Entertainment in 2021, filming multiple projects, including Yumi’s Cells, The Devil Judge, and A Christman Carol, the latter of which earned him “Best New Actor — Film” at the 2023 Baeksang Arts Awards.
The star also released his first solo album during that time, Chapter 0: With.
Fans knew that Jinyoung was one of many idols born in 1994 that would be required to begin his mandatory military enlistment this year, meaning it was only a matter of waiting.
GOT7’s other 94-liner, JayB began his military service in January 2023, with fans only finding out after his donation to Green Umbrella Child Fund Korea. The organization confirmed that he was “currently completing his military duty as a public service work personnel.”

After his final public schedule at the 2023 Baeksang Arts Awards, Jinyoung spent his remaining time reassuring fans about his upcoming enlistment, both in messages and during live streams.
The day before he would make the journey to his training location, Jinyoung shared a photo, giving fans a peek at his military buzzcut.

Fans were hopeful this would be another chance to see GOT7 members together to send Jinyoung off before his service began and had their wishes granted!
Though Jinyoung’s enlistment was private, many people went to see him off, including those he worked with on A Christmas Carol. BH Entertainment, Jinyoung’s company, also shared a final photo of the artist.
Also in attendance were Yugyeom and Jay B, who took a leave from his service to see his groupmate off. In a photo shared in Yugyeom’s story, Jay B stands beside Jinyoung while the group’s maknae is hugging him.
The members not in attendance were busy with their own schedules but likely sent messages in their group chat, with BamBam publicly sending Jinyoung well-wishes on his Instagram account.
