GOT7 VS Solo — Jackson Wang Sets The Record Straight In Firm Response
Recently, many have been overjoyed by the confirmed news of GOT7‘s comeback after several years.
In 2021, the members of GOT7 all left JYP Entertainment, choosing to seek opportunities elsewhere. However, the group did not disband, coming back together in 2022 to release GOT7 and hold a fan concert.
Since then, the members have focused on solo activities, but with Jay B and Jinyoung completing their mandatory service, a comeback was rumored and then confirmed to be in the works.

As the group and fans get ready for the January 20th release, the members have remained busy with individual schedules. This includes Jackson Wang, who was recently announced to be a new global brand partner of Nike and Jordans.
However, like other idols who have solo careers, there are sometimes fans who want the star to be only active in one area. Jackson recently spoke up about this, giving a straight answer to those complaining about his career.
On Weibo, after back and forth between fans of GOT7 and those who are fans of Jackson’s solo work, the idol spoke out, basically telling everyone to only pay attention to what they want to and avoid messiness.
Don’t do unnecessary things… Like what you like, if you like it, then good; if you don’t like it, then leave it. It’s been a long time since I returned to being in a boyband.. I’m not used to it, but this is something between me and my brothers; don’t meddle. This is also my principle; everyone has their stance, so don’t start conflict; my solo is my solo, while the group is a group. Don’t do messy things — what’s the point? Doing these only to hear echoes in a chamber. If you want to see it, then see; if you don’t like to see it, then don’t see it.
— Jackson
Jackson also commented on his bond with GOT7, stating that they are brothers and silencing those questioning his dedication to the group.
If you are willing to support what I do, but at the same time, I also hope people know about what I went through; I went through a lot, and there is a lot of complicated stuff going on in this industry… The things I do are certainly different from what my group does. The logic is also different. Don’t base your judgment on people’s opinions as they are not the facts most of the time. The group this time is brotherhood, which is also what I love. It has nothing to do with career. This is my family. I have my own career, and so do they.
— Jackson
Many praised the idol for speaking his mind and hopefully shutting down any conflicts.
people need to understand that he is and will always stay loyal to the group AND is and will always be a successful soloist. you never get to question THE jackson wang when he's been through a lot https://t.co/BMXJUnPwJK

the focus should be on the root problem aka toxic fans on both sides who feel they can dictate jackson’s choices with his career and how that has affected him, but people are diminishing it into a “regular fandom war” between solo and group stans. he deserves better. https://t.co/7SqEahXDgu

Got7 has always been very clear on that: they are GOT7, AND they are all individuals with different goals, aspirations & ambition for themselves! They love being together AND they also take pride in their solo project. You can only like one side without diminishing the other. https://t.co/IcJG7LXSJ4
