Popular Boy Group’s Security Guard Accused Of Severely Assaulting And Mocking Fan

The victim is a minor.

Security guards have been known to get a little rough with fans on the job. Although the safety of the idols is important, sometimes fans feel blindsided by sudden attacks from overprotective guards.

On June 23, 2024, a fan of CRAVITY had been at the airport to welcome the group back to South Korea. They claimed to have not been blocking anyone’s path, neither were they sticking close to the members. Although the fan claimed to have been watching from a respectable distance, the security guard approached them and allegedly assaulted them by hitting their head. The fan tried to ignore him after the first hit. After that, he seemed to be angered further, and hit their head more times while sternly telling them “not to stick close.”

The fan mantains that they did not come close to the members, and told the guard as much. However, he continued to attack them, even chasing them down when they attempted to leave the situation. He allegedly mocked the fan, and even took their photos.

“I have never stuck close to the members. I told him that, and the only response I got was rude speech and him calling me ‘a mental patient.’ I am a minor, and I was scared to deal with a grown man, so I tried to leave. But he used his handphone to take my photos, and continued to chase after me. He continued to film me and my friend, mocking me with words such as ‘do more, why don’t you?’ and more. Heaven though the other guards around tried to stop him, he continued to chase me and film me, all the way even after I left the gates.” — Symini0917

The fan continues to explain that the job of the security guards are to protect the idols, not to threaten fans. Other videos from other fans showed how others were also pushed by the guards randomly, although they were not anywhere close to the members.

Other fans urge the victim to seek legal help with the matter, given the severity of the security guard’s actions.
