Han Ye Seul Is Criticized For Photos Depicting The Actress Disrespecting A Navajo Nation Landmark
Actress Han Ye Seul‘s photos of her trip to the Antelope Canyons have gotten her in trouble.
The actress uploaded a series of photos to her Instagram on May 2. The photos, captioned “Hiking through wonders,” showed the actress inside the wonderous crevices of the Antelope Canyon with her boyfriend.
However, some netizens took exception to a few of the photos. In a photo, Han Ye Seul can be seen placing a hand on the canyon walls, while another showed her stepping up on the sides of the walls.
This act was controversial due to the fact that the walls can be damaged. When entering the canyons, visitors are given instructions not to touch the canyon walls, let alone stand on them. Considering how fluent in English she is, many netizens were more disappointed that she did not heed the warnings.
The Antelope Canyon is a slot canyon on Navajo land east of Lechee, Arizona. The sandstone slot canyons are said to be 8-60 million years old. As a popular destination for travelers, many are advised to preserve the natural site.
The actress has since taken down the photo without any further explanation or apology.
