Tragically Murdered South Korean Child’s Father Asks IVE’s Wonyoung To Visit Wake, Draws Criticism
It was recently reported that an 8-year-old child was found stabbed to death in school. A teacher in their 30s was discovered alongside her. The child was identified as Haneul, and the tragic nature of the incident led to it being highly publicized.
Haneul was noted to have been a huge fan of IVE, and Jang Wonyoung in particular. IVE heard about the tragic news and sent a wreath to her funeral. It was reported through a television interview that her father had specifically asked for Wonyoung to visit Haneul’s wake.
If I could have a special request, it would be that Wonyoung come to visit Haneul at her wake even though she is probably busy. IVE sent us a wreath, but I promised Haneul to send her to IVE’s concert if they ever held one in Daejeon. Just as I said yesterday, Haneul’s dream was basically Jang Wonyoung’s very existence.

Although Koreans expressed their deepest regrets and condolences, many felt that his request for a personal visit was out of line.
