Hashtag To Celebrate BTS Suga’s Concert Flooded With “Drunk Driving” Memes

The news was so sudden.

The police investigation into Suga’s drunk driving incident has ended.

On August 7, media outlets reported that BTS‘s Suga is being investigated by the police for operating an electric scooter after drinking. The Yongsan Police Station is currently investigating Suga for violating traffic laws regarding drunk driving of the electric scooter.

According to the police, Suga was found on the night of August 6 outside the Nine One Hannam luxury complex in Hannam-dong after he fell from the electric scooter he had been driving while intoxicated. Suga was escorted to a nearby police station for further investigation. The results of his breathalyzer test revealed that Suga’s blood alcohol level was 0.08% or higher, well above the legal limit of 0.03%.

Coincidentally, fans had been preparing a hashtag event to celebrate the anniversary of Suga’s solo concert.

#민윤기_고맙고_사랑해 (#MinYoonGi_ThankYou_LoveYou) is not a hashtag to clear out any hate. It was initially intended to celebrate his first solo concert anniversary. But because the news about drunk driving came out today, people misunderstood it as a hashtag to clear out the timeline. Anyway, that’s not it’s intended purpose and I am not defending the drunk driving.

As such, the anniversary hashtag and drunk driving hashtag were seen side by side on X’s trending hashtags.
