On December 29, Jeju Air Flight 2216 crashed while landing at Muan International Airport in South Korea after departing from Bangkok, Thailand.

With this, many text messages were revealed by family members of passengers aboard the flight.

This message was from a father who was waiting for his wife and daughter to come home from their trip to Thailand.

Family: Have a fun time until the end!

Passenger: Ok

Family: Contact me.

A father sent a message to his son whose family was on vacation in Thailand. However, his message stayed unread.

Family: Son, you’re coming home tomorrow, right. There was a plane crash today from Bangkok to Muan. Please contact me.

Two sons waited for their mother at Muan International Airport, only to have her not return. Their mother had gone on a trip with friends after battling cancer for a year.

Passenger: Son, a friend of mine sent tangerines from Jeju and it’s at the front door. Could you take it inside?

Family: Ah, those were tangerines?

A group chat revealed a family member’s last message before the crash.

Passenger: We are leaving tonight. Mom, did you arrive in Gyeongju?

Family member: Come back safely! It’s really cold.

Family member: Come back safe! I’m with the uncles at Uljin.

Passenger: Ok, I’ll contact you tomorrow. Have a fun time, Mom.

Family: Ok~

This was the last message received from a passenger’s mother from her daughter.

Passenger: We get on the plane early in the morning. Probably around 3 AM KST?

Family: Is it five over there? Come back safely.

Passenger: It’s 4:19 right now.

Family: Have you arrived?
