Their recent ad was accused.

SM Entertainment‘s latest girl group Hearts2Hearts has already been accused of plagiarism, when they have not even debuted yet.

Ahead of their official debut, the girls have already bagged a CF deal with budget coffee chain MegaCoffee. As a teaser, the chain released a concept image of the girls’ group chat about the brand and deal.

The design was that of a digital chat screen, with visible chat windows and emojis. Some found the pixel, cutesy aesthetic a little too similar to that of NJZ‘s concept photos for their communication app, Phoning.

Previously, other SM Entertainment group RIIZE had also been accused of plagiarizing their concept theme from NJZ.

Netizens reasoned that it was similar, but could not be called a plagiarism. Rather, NJZ had led the trend for such designs and aesthetics, leading many other K-Pop groups to create similar vibes. Furthermore, it was MegaCoffee that had published the design, not SM Entertainment.

  • It’s not to the point of plagiarism, but it’s undeniable that they were inspired by NJZ. In fact, all of the idol industry was.
  • All of the rookies are all doing something similar to NJZ. Their success is definitely huge.
  • But seems like NJZ really are impressive.
  • Get it together. MegaCoffee made that, not SM Entertainment.
  • Compared to what RIIZE did, this is nothing.

What do you think?
