It seems like everyone would jump at the chance of being part of the company and having the chance to debut under HYBE… except one rising actor who has gained attention for turning down the company 7-8 times.

One of the newest K-Dramas from Netflix is Hierarchy.

Amid a star-studded cast, one rising actor has gained a lot of love and praise despite the lack of screen time, and it’s Lee Won Jeong, who plays Lee Woo Jin.

The cast recently appeared on Knowing Bros, and it was revealed that Won Jeong almost debuted as an idol.

While the actor was never a trainee or even close to being an idol, he was asked to become one on multiple occasions.

In particular, Won Jeong revealed he turned down a big company 7-8 times…

Before revealing it was actually HYBE that had contacted him multiple times. As soon as he was contacted, the first thing Won Jeong asked was whether there was an acting department because all the sub-labels were focused on idols.

Anyone would jump at the chance, but Won Jeong had a goal in mind and he actually told them to stop contacting him because he wanted to be an actor.

From a young age, he always had a passion to act.

He even explained how he wanted organic growth that saw him go from small roles to getting bigger as he had more experience.

When the video was posted, it quickly made its rounds on social media and gained a lot of attention.

Netizens praised Woo Jeong for sticking to his goals and pointed out that he would succeed more as an actor than in the “oversaturated” idol industry.
