Director’s Wife Responds To Adulterous Actress Kim Min Hee’s Extramarital Baby

Dispatch revealed Kim Min Hee was about six months into her pregnancy.

On January 17, 2025 (KST), Dispatch revealed that actress Kim Min Hee—9 years in her relationship with married director Hong Sang Soo—is pregnant with his child and expected to give birth soon.

According to the revelation, Kim Min Hee discovered she was expecting last summer. Dispatch confirmed that, on January 15, the adulterous couple visited the OB/GYN together. Hong Sang Soo is reported to have stayed by her side for the checkup, not caring too much about people looking at him.

That said, Korean media outlets have since reported that Hong Sang Soo’s wife did not know about Kim Min Hee’s pregnancy.

In a phone conversation with one of the outlets, the estranged wife commented that she “had no idea” and thanked the outlet for “letting [her] know.” In another phone conversation, the wife apologized and avoided speaking any further on the issue.

Given that Hong Sang Soo remains legally married to his wife after losing his divorce lawsuit in 2019, any child between him and Kim Min Hee from the extramarital affair would either be registered under Hong Sang Soo’s family registry as an illegitimate child or under Kim Min Hee’s as solely hers.

Meanwhile, Hong Sang Soo’s production company, Jeonwon Films, has effectively become unreachable—and so the pregnancy remains unconfirmed. All eyes are on the “75th Berlin International Film Festival” coming up on the January 21, as it is likely for Hong Sang Soo to attend.

The news of their extramarital baby is now shedding light on the adulterous couple’s recent appearance together at the “77th Locarno International Film Festival” in Switzerland. According to Dispatch’s timeline, the two were aware of the pregnancy—and, as netizens believe, it fueled the actress’s unabashed display of affection toward the married father of her child.
